Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix was aware that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meters in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
