Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish model and actress. Alison Doody made her movie debut as the Bond actress in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. The other roles she played include Siobhan Donavan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. This led to an impressive career as a commercial model. Doody stringently avoided glamour and naked work, a rule that was extended to her acting career. She was cast in a minor role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill when she was noticed by the director who cast her. Doody's name was included within John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising young actors in 1986. 38. Doody was just turning 18 when she was given the character of Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bondgirl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody played a non-speaking part in the 1987 version of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. Doody's first leading role came in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress played Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. She then took on her greatest role as Austrian archaeologist and Nazisympathiser Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors in the role of James Bond. In 1991 Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Then she moved to Hollywood. Chosen to replace Cybill Shepherd as the spokeswoman of L'Oreal she went on to play opposite Charlie Sheen in 1994's Major League II as Flannery his girlfriend and agent. Doody was away from acting for almost 10 years, came back 2003 to play a small role of her role in the British comedy The Actors in which Michael Caine appeared as her in a scene at an awards ceremony. Doody's roles include an appearance in a TV movie version of King Solomon's Mines in 2004, a booklet about the Holocaust, and an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Later, she guest-starred in RTE's the medical drama The Clinic. She was scheduled to also be the star of a remake in 2011 of the horror classic The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Pam Jefferson, the character she played on E4's comedy Beaver Falls during its first season, which ran for two years. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way.
